The Financial Brain Dump: Bookkeeping That Makes Sense For Your Brain
Ever stared at your business transactions feeling completely overwhelmed? You're not alone. As a business owner, you need to understand your finances to make confident decisions—but traditional bookkeeping methods often create more confusion than clarity.
I've discovered something important: The problem isn't you—it's that most financial systems aren’t shared in ways that make sense to how your brain naturally works.
Why Most Bookkeeping Advice is Confusing
Here's what I've realized after years of struggling with my own books and then helping others: most bookkeeping and tax advice is shared as isolated tips without showing you where they fit in the whole financial picture.
And information without context is disorienting and overwhelming for many of us.
You get told to "track your expenses" or "save receipts" without understanding why or how these pieces connect to the bigger picture. It's like being handed random puzzle pieces without seeing the box cover that shows what you're building.
Accounting is literally centuries old. We have Italian records of double-entry bookkeeping from the 1400s! Yet somehow, in 2025, it remains frustratingly inaccessible to many business owners.
My Journey From Confusion to Clarity
As someone with a neurodivergent brain, I had to piece together the entire accounting puzzle myself—from freelancing as an interpreter to starting a tutoring business to formal bookkeeping education—before the full picture finally made sense.
I remember the frustration of being told to do things without understanding why they mattered. Each piece of advice felt disconnected from everything else I was learning.
That's a journey most busy entrepreneurs simply don't have time for. And honestly, you shouldn't need to become an accountant to run your business effectively.
You Have Three Options With Your Books
When it comes to managing your business finances, you really have three choices:
Do it all yourself (and potentially struggle with systems that don't match your thinking style)
Outsource it completely (which works great if you're at that financial stage)
Find a middle path where you gain clarity without doing all the heavy lifting
That third option has been missing for too many business owners. You want to understand your numbers without becoming an accountant yourself.
Introducing: The Financial Brain Dump
After helping dozens of business owners organize their finances, I've noticed a pattern: Most people don't need ongoing monthly bookkeeping (yet) as much as they need someone to:
Look at what they're currently doing
Connect the isolated pieces into a coherent whole
Point out what's not working and why
Create a simple system that works with their natural thinking patterns
That's what I want the Financial Brain Dump to do—a way to finally see the complete picture of your finances, not just disconnected advice.
What Happens During a Financial Brain Dump:
How It Works:
Before the call:
Download your bank statements from January - March (CSV format works best)
Have Excel, Google Sheets, or any spreadsheet program ready
You can even download your statements during the call if needed
During our 90 minutes together:
Quick intro and what to expect
I'll demonstrate how to categorize transactions with a few examples
You'll work on your own finances with my guidance
Ask questions anytime using the raise hand feature or send a message in the chat
We'll troubleshoot together as a group
After the session:
You'll receive the recording to reference later
Know how to continue organizing your finances on your own
Option to join future sessions or book a one-on-one if you need more support
The end goal? Getting started
