About Aneisha, founder of Yellow Sky

Aneisha, black woman wearing a yellow sweater and glasses, sits on the ground, smiling.

I trained as an interpreter, turning dense language into something the other person could actually understand. I did that for 8 years until my AuDHD diagnosis and burnout in 2021.

So then I started Yellow Sky, combining my translation skills with my head for numbers and an eventual accounting degree.

Same job, different language.

I learned the formal world of debits, credits, and reports — its rules and requirements — and applied my interpreting skills to the business owner who just needs to know what's true about their money and what they can do with it

Basically, translating accountant-speak into plain language.

And that's what I do. I help ND-led microbusinesses fix and understand their bookkeeping, so the numbers mean something to them, and say the right things to their accountant.

Background & team

I have an Accounting degree and years of behind-the-scenes bookkeeping experience, with a special focus on cleanups and catch-up work.

Yellow Sky is a two-person team: I manage the process and review; my husband Aaron supports with categorization and reconciliations.

Outside of accounting

I love walks, reading, travel, bubble tea, and cozy coffee shops.
