I have a complicated view on tech, especially AI.
I have a complicated view on tech, especially AI.
It’s easy to see how it can cause harm. But as service providers who work with neurodivergent clients, there’s another side worth noticing:
New tech helps people who would otherwise get left out.
When used intentionally, AI can make accessibility easier to build in from the start, not as an afterthought.
Here’s how I use it:
I record myself talking through an explanation, then use AI to turn that into clear notes or bullet points and send both versions. Some clients prefer to read. Others want to watch or listen to the video. Either way, they get the information in a format that works for them. And it helps me communicate more clearly, too.
So yes, tech can absolutely be misused. But it can also be designed for care.
That’s why I don’t see tech as good or bad. It’s neutral.
It’s how we use it that matters.
👉🏾 Especially for ND clients, tech can help us make our systems more human.
